Socialization of Sungailiat Bible Week, 4 September 2025.
In the lead up to Sungailiat Bible Week 2025 which will be held on September 5-7, 2025, the Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) team did a lot of preparation and coordination with the local committee in Sungailiat. In a meeting held on September 3, 2025 at the event location, the Bethel Indonesia Church (GBI) Air Merapin, it was proposed by Rev. Ishak, one of the committee members, that the LAI Central team make an additional socialization visit to Setia Budi Sungailiat High School. "Tomorrow morning we will go to Setia Budi High School, sir," he told the LAI Central team.
The long-awaited day arrived, the LAI Central team consisting of Mr. Lukas Mariyanto, Ms. Adeline. Lukas Mariyanto, Ms. Adeline, Ms. Costaria Saragi, Mr. Wahyu Anasrullah (Anas), Mr. Hezekiah, and Ms. Zegy visited SMA Setia Budi on Thursday morning, September 4, 2025 at 7:45 am. The agenda for this meeting was to gather all the Christian students in the school and introduce LAI and the Bible Week program to them. "Sir, don't take too long with them here," said Pastor Ishak, who is also a Christian Religion teacher at the school, to the LAI Headquarters team. He hopes that the children will become more familiar with LAI, and feel at home at the school. "Today there is a religious activity at school, so Christian students who don't participate have free time", Titus Yohanes, a grade XII student explained to the LAI team. Not wasting the opportunity, Mrs. Costaria took the microphone and immediately invited the Christian students who had gathered to sing and praise God together. Mr. Mr. Luke presented the narration of God's Word from 2 Timothy 3:16, which states that all Scripture is inspired by God for teaching, reproof, and correction. The children were so excited to participate in worship and hear the Word of God.
After a short worship service, Mr. Anas immediately greeted the children, "Good morning!!! Where's the spirit? Young people must be excited!". "Good morning!", said the children happily. Having broken the ice, Mr. Anas immediately stated that the children were all invited to come to Sungailiat Bible Week 2025, which will be held on September 5-7, 2025 at GBI Air Merapin. "You will be surprised at the number of Bible objects in the Museum exhibition. There are mustard seeds, trumpets, does anyone know trumpets?", Mr. Anas tried to tease the curiosity of the children, who were so enthusiastically watching him. Then, he also mentioned that on September 6, 2025 at 10am there will be a Digital Literacy Seminar: Wise Social Media in the Age of AI. In this seminar, children will learn together about how to be wise in using social media. But not only that, they will learn together to create content that blesses, in the era of technological development and AI. "Later you will learn directly with the content creator!", continued Mr. Anas explaining.
Finally, after finishing explaining all the events of Bible Week 2025 in Sungailiat, all Christian students and the LAI Center team took a group photo. Today, September 4, 2025, was indeed a happy day. On a sunny morning from 8 to 10 am West Indonesia time, there had been a warm interaction between generations. This happiness was capped off with a video of the Indonesian Bible Institute's tagline, "LAI, the Bible for all!"
