Sunday School Teachers Workshop and Bible Prayer Month 2025 in Jakarta
“The fear of the LORD is hateful to evil; I hate pride, arrogance, evil behavior, and a deceitful mouth.(Proverbs 8:13). This scripture reminds us that true service is born out of a heart that submits to God. For a Sunday School Teacher, a living example speaks louder than words.
This spirit was felt strongly on Saturday, August 23, 2025, when the Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) organized the Sunday School Teachers (GSM) Workshop and Socialization of the Bible Prayer Month (BDA) 2025 at GKI Rawamangun. A total of 59 Sunday School Teachers from 33 churches in Jakarta, Depok, and Bekasi attended to be equipped in their noble calling.
Pdt. Darmawasih Manullang as the keynote speaker invited the GSMs to serve with a constructive word, a loving heart, and an example of daily life. "Being a Sunday School Teacher means teaching with inspiration, loving with the heart, and being an example in life," he said in the coaching session.
Not only equipped with material, the GSMs were also invited to enter into a reflection of faith so that their ministry is increasingly rooted in Christ. From here they were reminded that educating children in God's love is a spiritual investment for the future of the Church.
In addition to GSM coaching, the event also featured the socialization of the 2025 Bible Prayer Month. Through this program, LAI invites people to be grateful for the work of Bible translation, support the mission of translation into regional languages, especially the Ot Danum language in 2025 and participate in supporting funds through the BDA piggy bank throughout September.
Of the churches present, 18 of them expressed their commitment to fully support the BDA program. This support shows the spirit of unity of the churches in serving and glorifying God through the proclamation of His word.
