Jakarta - Tuesday, 4 December 2023 an important meeting between the Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) and Bank Indonesia (BI) was held at the Bible Centre Building (GPA), aimed at providing Bibles to God's people in remote parts of the archipelago. This meeting was a significant step forward in supporting Christians across Indonesia's access to Bibles, especially for those who are geographically and financially constrained.

This support became a reality after Bank Indonesia announced that the funds raised from the 2023 Christmas love offering will be used entirely to purchase and distribute 1000 Bibles in remote areas. This decision shows a real commitment from the banking community to contribute in fulfilling the spiritual needs of neglected Christians in remote areas of the country.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Indonesian Bible Institute and the BI Employee Christmas Committee. In his remarks, Chairman of the BI Christmas Committee, Naek Tigor Sinaga presented a love offering in the form of support for 1000 second edition New Translation Bibles (TB 2). "This is an expression of love from all levels of BI employees, from the top to the bottom, all levels of BI employees," said Mr Naek Tigor. "We hope that this support does not stop at the distribution but how the understanding and deepening of the Bible can be done as well," added Naek Tigor Sinaga.

The plan is to distribute the Bibles evenly across remote areas in Indonesia, involving coordination with local churches. BI is also open to co-operation as the distribution process in collaboration with BI representatives in areas such as in NTT and Papua can begin as soon as possible, so that Christians who previously had difficulty obtaining Bibles can better celebrate and deepen their faith.

The Bible will be distributed evenly in various remote areas of Indonesia, involving co-ordination with local churches. 

This meeting serves as an inspiring example of how collaboration between the religious and corporate sectors can create positive impact in society. Hopefully, this step will be a milestone for more such collaborations in the future, inspiring many to come together to help those in need, especially when it comes to biblical needs.
