The sorrows and pains of life often come our way. We have no power to avoid them. But one thing that is certain is that in faith in God, we are actually established in firm footsteps to always expect His help so that the problems, sadness, and pain can be passed well in life.
This faith is also reflected in the psalmist's cry in our reading today. "O God, deliver me; the Lord help me quickly!", is the psalmist's cry which we should interpret as complete trust in Him. In his distress, the psalmist knew that God was the only one he could rely on and so he did not hesitate to petition God. It even included a request that those who were about to take his life would be humiliated and reproached.
In contrast to the fate of his oppressors, the psalmist who represents the righteous will rejoice and be glad in the LORD. They are the ones who always rely on God and yearn for His salvation. In the end, the psalmist was convinced that God was the only source of his help. That is what all believers need in life.
Friends of the Bible, let us firmly come to God, the source of life. Especially when we are burdened. When we suffer from heavy struggles and sorrows, we tend to feel so lonely. But rest assured that God is always present and helps us to get through everything. As long as we truly call out to Him and become righteous before God.
