Human beings are complex creatures. Within him are mysteries that are born through various forms of experience and the meaning of these experiences. Grief and joy are the responses created by that interpretation. Like a living document, it is every human being whose story and life story is always woven throughout his life. As God's people, it is important for us to see every life experience in the light of God's love. So that we find that whatever happens is not a coincidence but God's way of revealing His purpose and love.
The deliverance of the Israelites from Egyptian slavery was not just a meaningless event in the past or a coincidence that resulted in good. The Israelites chose to interpret the event spiritually in terms of God's provision for His people. That is what is also seen in our reading this time. Still within the framework of the theme of God's steadfast love and provision for Israel, the psalmist seems to show evidence for this statement through verses 10-26. The psalmist describes God's act of delivering Israel from the hands of Egypt. God's plagues on Egypt serve as a reminder of what God can do in terms of His provision for Israel. He was like a mighty hero who led Israel out of the land of Egypt (v. 12).
The Cross Sea he parted to bring the people across. As if to emphasize that even the landscape cannot hinder God's good intentions for His people. The nations were driven away by God to pave Israel's way to the promised land. Ultimately, through all of God's actions in history, believers are invited to express gratitude for God's steadfast love throughout history.
Friends of the Bible, when life's problems and struggles hit, it feels like life suddenly turns dark as if there is no future. When that happens and we are on the brink of despair, let us remember God who has been and will continue to work in our lives. Life may not be good at the moment, but hasn't God's goodness been manifested in our lives in the past? Then the same goodness continues to be done by God for all eternity. God's steadfast love is real for all eternity. He never stops loving and putting His people first.
