Bible Society of Indonesia Surabaya Representative

The Surabaya Representative Office of the Bible Society of Indonesia (LAI) serves as an extension in realizing LAI's Vision, namely, "God's Word reaches all generations." The presence of this office is a concrete expression of LAI's Mission to translate, publish, and distribute the Bible widely in support of the spiritual growth of God's people.

The establishment of this representative office was based on a strategic study that identified East Java as a potential region for supporting the "Good News" ministry program. Previously, ministry services in East Java were managed directly by LAI's head office in Jakarta. However, distance constraints made service outreach less optimal.

In April 2024, LAI began pioneering its representative office in Surabaya with full support from the East Java Regional Synod of GKI, which provided office facilities in the Bendul Merisi housing area as an initial step in the ministry.
In its efforts to carry out the organization's vision and mission, LAI Surabaya has built intensive communication with churches, faith-based institutions, and Partners of the Supporting Working Group (KKPD). Together with KKPD, LAI Surabaya consistently:

Promotes the SDK Program: Introducing and presenting LAI's strategic programs to congregations in various churches.
Fundraising Activities: Organizing fundraising events as a shared responsibility in supporting the mission of spreading God's Word.

As the ministry continued to grow, the LAI Surabaya Representative Office was officially inaugurated on August 6, 2024, at Ruko Nginden Intan, Jl. Nginden Intan Raya Blok B2 No. 21-22, Kel. As a service center for the community, LAI Surabaya presents Bible House, which functions as a facility to make it easier for people to access the Bible. Through this Bible House, LAI Surabaya strengthens its role not only in fundraising, but also in the representative distribution of the Bible. This service continues to be proactively developed throughout East Java, Bali, and even East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to ensure that God's Word is readily available and relevant to the lives of God's people.
