Dad’s Son Meets Jesus

Yeremia was still very young when his mother died. But he was old enough to feel the emptiness and heartbreak. “After my mother died, there was no one left to love me,” said Yeremia, recalling his past.

At first, the heartbroken boy was sent to live with his uncle in a small village in Bangladesh. Their house was made only of bamboo and straw. And every day, they never had enough to eat. Growing up as an orphan, Yeremia was unsure if there was anyone left who loved him.

Eventually, his uncle took Yeremia to a local children’s home. There, he met many other orphans. At the orphanage, Yeremia finally came to know the love of the Lord Jesus through the Bible, which was provided with the help of the Bible Society’s faithful partners.”“I am so happy to have received this Bible. I read it every day. I love my Bible,” he said.

“Finally, I gave my life to the Lord Jesus,” said Yeremia. “I love the Lord Jesus and He loves me very much. I want to follow Him every day.” Yeremia no longer feels alone. He has a ‘Father’ and a ‘Helper’ in his heart.

Jeremiah is one of thousands of children around the world who, thanks to the love and care of the ministry partners of the Bible Societies, can now believe that there is still love and hope, which comes from the Lord Jesus Christ. Through the generosity of partners and donors, Bible Societies strive to introduce the Lord Jesus through the Holy Scriptures to children who are hopeless and marginalised in various parts of the world.

In particular, let us pray for and support the work of Bible Societies around the world in:

  1. Introducing children to the Holy Scriptures in Nepal
  2. Helping to heal the trauma of children forced to become child soldiers in Sudan
  3. Reaching out to gang-affiliated teenagers in Central America
  4. Sharing God’s love with orphans in Bangladesh
  5. Introducing children throughout the Middle East to God
  6. Offering hope to abandoned orphans and suffering children in Ukraine
  7. Teaching mothers and children in places such as Peru about Christ
  8. Providing Sunday School and ‘Good News for Children’ resource packs for children in rural Indonesia.
  9. Every effort reveals God’s forgiveness and love for wounded children and demonstrates, through the Scriptures, that God loves those who are often regarded as the “lowest and most marginalised”.
