National Teachers' Day is celebrated every November 25, coinciding with the founding of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) in 1945. Since ancient times, teachers have been the main pillars of education. They not only share knowledge, but also guide students towards a noble future. Teachers have played an important role in the transformation of education.
However, teacher welfare is still an important issue that needs attention. Many teachers are still struggling to get 'appreciation' or a decent salary, adequate allowances, and supporting facilities. "Teachers are unsung heroes", maybe it's time for us to reinterpret that old jargon. If teachers are indeed the nation's heroes, then we must ensure that teachers in Indonesia receive a proper reward for all their services, so that they can think as best they can about how to educate the nation's children without having to be confused about meeting monthly needs or a series of never-ending installments.
A developed nation is a nation that pays great attention to the education of its citizens, times may change but we must not abandon the priority of education. It is time for teachers to receive full support and trust from the community to educate the nation's children according to the wisdom they possess. That trust is what drives teachers to be able to innovate in their teaching process, without having to be afraid of making mistakes when instilling knowledge and discipline in their students.
Happy Teachers' Day to all teachers in Indonesia. Congratulations on carrying out your duties and fulfilling your devotion to educate the nation's children. Hopefully teachers, especially those who believe in Christ, can gain strength in teaching because they see that the Teacher has shown the way and example in teaching and renewing the lives of His students, even His teachings continue to sow in the hearts of His students throughout all ages. Hopefully teachers in Indonesia can also teach with sincerity and great love as God has first loved us, His people. Hopefully children in Indonesia can grow into civilized human beings, uphold humanity, and appreciate the knowledge that has been passed down to them.
