Distribution of "Identified Identity" for teenagers in Magelang and its surroundings
A total of 50 copies of the book Identity: Identified were distributed to teenagers in Magelang and surrounding areas in the midst of routine monthly faith formation activities on September 7. What's interesting is that even though the location for faith mentoring is located at Santa Maria Sawangan Middle School, the activity participants not only come from this school, but also from various other areas, for example from Kanisius Middle School, Sumber, which is only 7 km from the slopes of Mount Merapi and is still in the red zone. catastrophe. Most of the participants came from underprivileged families.
It was during this activity that the Identity: Identified Book was distributed. The distribution of this book is one of the efforts to realize a Church that walks with youth, because this book, in addition to containing sacred texts from the New Testament, is also equipped with reflection notes and links to video testimonies, which provide relevant and contextual faith deepening for young Catholics. This activity is a real symbol of how the Church tries to be present in the lives of youth, becoming a traveling companion in navigating the waves of life.
The principal of SMP Santa Maria Sawangan, I. Budi Hartanto, who also accompanied the activity, welcomed the distribution of the Identity: Identified book very well. This proves the Church's attention to the development of the spiritual aspects of these teenagers. Through the presence of this book, it is hoped that teenagers can continue to grow in faith and have a strong source of encouragement.
These teenagers were so enthusiastic and joyful when they received this book. As soon as they received the book, they immediately opened it and some of them even immediately scanned the barcode that was connected to videos of testimonies from young people about their struggles. One of the teenagers named Tito also immediately gave his testimony, "This book is very interesting and very easy to carry anywhere, so we can read it wherever we are."
Thank you to the KWI Youth Commission, the Indonesian Bible Society (LAI) and the donors who have made it possible for the Identity: Identified book to be present among the teenagers in Magelang and its surroundings. Even though they come from rural areas, they have the opportunity to surf the waves of life with young Catholics wherever they are accompanied by Identity: Identified. (Budi – Domus Cordis)
