In late April to early May 2025 there was something different in the city of Kudus, because on that day the city hosted the Bible Week of the Indonesian Bible Society (LAI), making it the second city where this activity was held after the city of Cirebon. Since the morning on the first day, the parking lot of the Isa Almasih Kudus Church was already bustling with the noisy voices of kindergarten and elementary school children who were preparing to take part in the coloring and drawing competition. Indeed, on that day several schools in the city of Kudus specifically sent school representatives to be able to take part in this activity. Cute and adorable, those two words might describe the atmosphere that morning, some were just scribbling on their paper, some were really serious about doing it. While the children were busy with their imaginations and colorful crayons, the accompanying parents could walk around and see the LAI Bible Museum collection exhibition or even shop for LAI products at low prices.
In accordance with Christian customs that begin everything with prayer, the entire series of activities for three days began with an opening service. This service was led by Rev. Daniel Tomasoa from GBI Hope Impact Kudus. Through his message, he invited the congregation to realize again that the word of God is not just spiritual reading—it is the most valuable treasure in life. The word of God is the most valuable treasure in a person's life because life must be based on/built by the word of God. When reading the Bible, the first step that must be taken is to ask for God's help to give us guidance in our thinking so that we can be open and understand His word. This step is important, because a word that is not inspired will not benefit us," said Rev. Daniel.
As a sign that the Holy Bible Week activities were officially opened for three days, the beating of the Gong was carried out by Rev. dr. Josafat Mesach, M.Th., as the representative of the LAI management, and the ribbon cutting was carried out together with representatives of the churches in Kudus. This moment was warmly welcomed by the applause of the congregation who were present and at the same time became a reflective moment because it united all those present in the same longing, namely to know God more deeply through His word. As the remarks of the Chairman of the Inter-Church Deliberative Body (BAMAG) of Kudus Regency, Rev. Dr. Minggus M. Pranoto, he hoped that this Holy Bible Week could bring churches to be more united in celebrating an Ecumenical life. In line with this hope, the venue for the implementation of the Holy Bible Week used three churches, namely the Isa Almasih Church, the Indonesian Baptist Church, and the Muria Indonesian Christian Church (GKMI).
Holy Bible Week truly became a warm and meaningful intergenerational meeting space. From children to the elderly, all were immersed in the same spirit and joy. Kindergarten children with cheerful faces participated in the Coloring Competition, while elementary school students poured out their creativity in the Drawing Competition. At the junior high school level, enthusiastic voices were heard when participants appeared in the Bible Story Telling Competition, conveying stories of faith with full appreciation. High school students were no less enthusiastic when competing in the Bible Quiz Competition, showing their knowledge of God's word. Not only competitions, Bible Week was also enriched with thematic seminars that opened insights and deepened understanding of faith. Among them, the TB2 Socialization Seminar by Rev. Anwar Tjen, Ph.D., Digital Literacy Seminar by Rev. Geget Elite Sucining Hyang, and Parenting Seminar by Rev. Martin Lukito Sinaga, D.Th.. The participants followed with full attention and enthusiasm for learning. This was evident from the various questions asked to the speakers at each seminar.
