LAI Goes To School at TKK Penabur Depok and Sekolah Menara Tirza
The warmth of Easter was still felt when last Thursday (24/4) and Friday (25/4), the LAI Goes To School team celebrated Easter with the children from the Christian Kindergarten (TKK) Penabur Kota Wisata and Sekolah Menara Tirza. Joy and enthusiasm were felt by the students from both schools when the Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) came to their school. It began with watching a video tour of the Bible museum and listening to explanations related to the objects there. The students looked enthusiastic about getting to know and learning about the objects in the Bible even though it was only through a video.
The activity continued with the story of Jesus' suffering on the cross. The students followed how Jesus was tortured and how faithful Mother Mary was by His side. Then the story ended with a visit from a special guest, the students were visited by the Mother Mary mascot. Of course there were many reactions when the Mother Mary mascot entered the room, some were afraid, some were happy, and some couldn't wait to take a photo together.
The event closed with a quiz about Bible stories and a book tour which of course was welcomed by the students with great enthusiasm. They raised their hands and competed to give the most correct answers. And when they returned to class, the books were neatly lined up on the table, waiting to be chosen and taken home.
LAI Goes To School is here to introduce the word of God from an early age. LAI hopes that this activity will enable the children at TKK Penabur Depok and Sekolah Menara Tirza to get to know the word of God in a fun and memorable way. (Abel)
