The Indonesian Bible Institute (LAI) strengthens its cooperation with churches in Yogyakarta through the Satu Dalam Kasih (SDK) program, as part of its mission to spread the Word of God to various parts of the archipelago.
On Friday (11/7/2025), two LAI representatives, namely Yosaba and Victor, arrived in Yogyakarta to carry out a series of direct services. For several days, they actively visited a number of churches such as GKJ Wirobrajan, GKJ Ambarukkma, GKJ Mergangsan, GKJ Condongcatur, GKJ Sarimulyo, GKJ Pakem, GKJ Karangbendo, GKJ Samironobaru, GKJ Gondokusuman, GKI Gondomanan, GRII Yogyakarta, and GKN Sonopakis.
Their presence received a positive response from church leaders. One of them was Rev. Risang from GKJ Condongcatur who expressed support for the SDK program and welcomed LAI's planned presentations in various partner churches.
This activity also involved students of Duta Wacana Christian University (UKDW), Andre Barus and Ruben Simanjuntak, who actively assisted the ministry and voiced the enthusiasm of Christian youth to get to know and be involved in LAI's mission.
LAI's mission.
The culmination of the activities took place on Monday evening (14/7/2025), when representatives of assemblies from various churches gathered in a meeting held at 6:00 pm. This meeting was an important moment to introduce LAI's mandate and programs and pioneer the formation of the LAI Mitra Yogyakarta Support Gathering Working Group (KKPD).
Some of the church leaders who attended included Rev. Nanda N (GKJ Wirobrajan), Mrs. Ester Nilan (GKJ Ambarukkma), Mr. Imanuel Geovasky (GKJ Karangbendo), Mr. Yohanes (GRII Yogyakarta), and Mrs. Febi Ardhiyani (GKN Sonopakis).
In the discussion, attention was drawn to people's access to the New Translation of the Bible 2nd Edition (TB-2) in digital format. In response, the LAI team stated that it is prioritizing internal management so that the digital version of TB-2 will soon be widely available.
A similar commitment was also shown by GKJ Karangbendo through Mr. Imanuel Geovasky, who appreciated the development of children and youth teaching materials by LAI. He expressed the willingness of his congregation to adopt programs such as Good News for Children (KBUA) and Identity Identify.
This step emphasizes the synergy between LAI and local churches as part of the common calling of the people to spread the gospel. LAI is committed to continue serving so that the Word of God reaches more souls, both through conventional and digital channels.
