In a historic meeting, Friday, 7 December 2023, Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia (LAI) held a strategic meeting with Yayasan Kasih Persaudaraan Bangsa (KARSA) a Christian service institution and engaged with KARSA values. Karsa Foundation focuses on education and technology, economic empowerment, and religion. The meeting set the stage for the two non-profit organisations to forge a close partnership in realising a shared vision for humanity, justice and prosperity. Representatives of the two foundations met in a meaningful location, the Bible Centre Building, marking the beginning of a new era of joint efforts that will always collaborate in the future. The focus of the meeting included several important aspects of improving the quality of education such as the New Readers of the Bible (PBA) on Siberut Island, which is inhabited by the Mentawai Tribe.
At the meeting session, the leaders of religious institutions expressed their commitment to jointly contribute to improving public welfare. "Profit is God's blessing but happiness is when we care and help others," said Sukanto Aliwinoto in a video profile of Karsa Foundation.
The highlight of the meeting was the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (KKS) which provides the legal and moral foundation to strengthen the cooperation between Yayasan KARSA and LAI. The MoU includes a commitment to support each other, share resources, and jointly develop new initiatives that can have a positive impact on society. Through this partnership, it is hoped that innovative solutions will be born that can overcome social challenges, improve access to education, empower the community's economy, and nourish religious values in everyday life. This meeting is not just a first step, but a long commitment to fight for humanity, justice, and prosperity together.
