Tuesday, 28 November 2023, there was a symbolic handover of the book ‘’Kabar Baik Untuk Anak“ (KBUA) to the children of Satu Bakti Christian Elementary School, located at Jalan Kartini, Bogor. Throughout the year, Lembaga Alkitab Indonesia (LAI) is committed to building children's enthusiasm for reading Scripture through KBUA books, illustrated Bibles specially designed for children. Ibu Yanti, Vice Principal of SD Kristen Satu Bakti, welcomed the LAI team with great joy and gratitude for the gift of 73 KBUA books for students aged 9-12 years old.
‘‘ We have a routine habit every morning before learning to invite students to read the Bible, but there are some words that are difficult for students to understand and make them wonder what the word means ’’ explained Ibu Yanti.
KBUA provides a solid moral and spiritual foundation for children. Not just understanding the stories, but also understanding the values contained in them in a fun way and simple language that is easy for children to understand.
KBUA is also present as a book that invites children to understand the Word of God with pictures of events that occurred in the Bible, with the hope that children can believe in the meaning of each Bible verse. The support of teachers and parents is a motivation for children to love God's Word from an early age and grow their love for the Lord Jesus.
LAI hopes that there will be more reading materials that are age-appropriate for children and beneficial for their growing faith and understanding of the Bible. Through KBUA reading activities in schools, children are taught to recognise Jesus Christ and His teachings of love. The hope is that they will pass on the Good News of God's love to their neighbours.
