Good News Voice Kambera Language

By Sigit Triyono

"The good news in Kambera language is not only voiced by us, but actually felt and experienced by us," said Pastor Benyamin Melip and was echoed by Pastor Andreas Ndapatamu."When I first went to Jakarta, I was actually diagnosed by a doctor with heart disease," Pastor Benyamin continued.

"When I first went to Jakarta, I was actually diagnosed by a doctor with heart disease.

With sparkling eyes he continued, "But while in Jakarta, every morning and evening I always walk quite far from the boarding house to the LAI office for recording. The positive result is that I'm fitter and I don't have any heart complaints anymore. It was all good news that I felt very real. " The above story was completed by Pastor Andreas, "From the beginning I was worried that something would happen to Pastor Benyamin. At one point I didn't even deliver news that could stress him out. But I see that while in Jakarta, he is getting healthier and fresher."Pastor Andreas

From mid-May to early September 2023 they were both in Jakarta to read the Kambera language Old Testament Bible and recorded at the LAI Jakarta studio. Pastor Benyamin and Pastor Andreas are two Pastors sent by the Sumba Christian Church (GKS) to read the Kambera language Bible and recorded by LAI. They are active speakers of the Kambera language which is still used in daily life and in church services. These readings and recordings are to complement the Kambera language New Testament Bibles that have already been recorded.

The Kambera language, also known as East Sumba, is the language of the Sumba tribe. Its speakers are scattered in the eastern region of Sumba island and the south of Flores island, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The benefit of reading and recording the Bible is to facilitate the spread of the good news through hearing. For anyone who has limitations in reading, or seeing, an audio Bible is a great help.

.

"By reading the Bible in my "mother tongue" and recorded, I feel God's greeting more deeply in my heart," Pastor Andreas said. "I am sure that listeners who use the Kambera language will feel the same way as I do, when they hear the recorded Bible in the Kambera language," he continued.

Pastor Andreas said.

Sound has a power that cannot be ignored. With sound, one's faith can be awakened and grow."So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." (Romans 10:17). How powerful is the power of sound. There are still many regional languages in Indonesia that need sound Bibles. LAI, in partnership with various parties, continues to work on the recording of the sound of the Bible in various regional languages in Indonesia.

Come up you dove,

O ye high-flying figures,

Good news reaching all generations,

Good news reaching all generations,

In various parts of the country.

The good news reaches all generations,
