Strengthening the Ministry of God's Word on the Island of the Gods
The Indonesian Institute of Bible (LAI) officially inaugurated the LAI Mitra Bali Support Working Group (KKPD). The inauguration was conducted by LAI General Secretary Dr Sigit Triyono, who was present with the Acting Head of LAI Surabaya Representative, who oversees East Java, Bali, NTB and NTT, Mrs Deyunita Sevenirim Tatung and Mrs Hana Faren.
The LAI Partner Bali KPD is a network of ministries under the coordination of the LAI Representative Office in Surabaya as a strategic partner and extension of LAI on the island of Bali in communicating the vision and mission of LAI, and garnering support from churches, institutions and individuals to support LAI's various ministry programmes.
The inauguration took place at the Protestant Christian Church in Bali (GKPB) Jemaat Kristus Kasih, on Sunday, 31 May 2026, in the midst of the GKPB Jemaat Kristus Kasih's Expressive Worship held at the end of every month.
Present at this inauguration moment were leaders of Church Institutions, Church Leaders and representatives from various organisations, including present Bishop Si Bagus Herman Suryadi, M.Th, Rev.Dr.Victor A. Hamel, Rev.Made Budiarsa, M.Si, along with the Management of various churches in Bali. Also present were representatives from PGIW Bali, Bali Partnership, PCPS GMKI Bali, MPUK PB, PIKI Bali, PWKI, PEWARNA Bali, GAMKI, GMKI,
The worship led by Rev I Made Budiarsa. M.Si was solemn and full of joy. In his sermon, Rev Budiarsa reflected on the importance of unity in collaborating in service. He invited all members of the congregation to get involved and support the ministry of KKPD LAI Mitra Bali through the DWD movement (Pray, Wartakan and Donate).
LAI General Secretary, Dr. Sigit Triyono, in his remarks explained that KKPD is an extension of LAI in strengthening LAI's presence and services in the midst of churches, Church institutions, Christian organisations and communities in Bali.
Mr Sigit further conveyed that the presence of the LAI Mitra Bali MPA is expected to expand the reach of services while building synergies with various church denominations, Christian institutions, and the wider community in Bali, in realising a shared vision of "God's Word Reaching All Generations".
As an extension of LAI, the LAI Mitra Bali MPA will play a role in building networks of cooperation, garnering support from various institutions and organisations across denominations in Bali, as well as socialising various LAI programs to churches and Christian communities in Bali.
Pak Sigit also explained that Christians in Indonesia should be grateful because the Bible is a unifying tool for Christians in Indonesia, both Catholics and Christians as well as churches across denominations. Because only in Indonesia are we united by the same Bible.
On the sidelines of the activity Putu Elicia Dewianti Putra, S.Psi, M.M., Chairperson of KKPD Mitra Bali revealed, currently LAI programs that have been carried out are the One in Love Program (SDK) raising support from churches by socialising to churches and institutions and individuals, to provide support for God's people in remote areas of the country who due to geographical factors and economic limitations have difficulty owning a Bible.
This inauguration momentum is a sign of our shared commitment to continue to bring God's word to all people and to strengthen the spirit of service based on love, unity, and inter-church cooperation.
Through the inauguration of the LAI Mitra Bali KKPD, it is hoped that the ministry of the Indonesian Bible Institute on the island of Bali will grow, reaching more strategic partners to make a real contribution to the growth of the faith life of the Christian community, so that the Word of God Reaches all Generations.
