Often people are blinded by a false sense of security based on things outside themselves. Power and material possessions are examples of this. We forget that one's true existence is always dependent and bound to the Creator. This means that God alone is sovereign over one's life. The story of Esther 8:1-9 reminds us that God is sovereign over all things and is able to turn things around according to His plan.
Haman, a high-ranking official in the Persian empire, arrogantly plotted the destruction of the Jewish people. He felt powerful and nothing could stop him. However, God had other plans. The evil that Haman designed turned on him. He was put to death, and all his possessions were given to Esther. Meanwhile, Mordecai, who was just an ordinary servant, was now appointed as the king's confidant. He even received the king's signet ring, a symbol of supreme power and authority.

From this story, we learn that life is not just about who is the strongest or most powerful, but about who lives in truth and is on God's side. Like Esther and Mordecai, they remained faithful, patient, and acted with wisdom. Esther didn't just ask for the annulment of the king's decree from the start. She approached the king carefully, waited for the right time, and acted with wisdom. God guided her through the process. This is an important lesson for us in facing life's challenges. We must learn not to rush into decisions, but with prayer and wisdom seek the best way according to God's will.
