Often in our daily life of faith, it is a comforting reinforcement when we see the exemplary behavior of those around us in living out their faith every day. Perhaps this is what today's passage is trying to show. Showing the exemplary faith of previous figures while showing the perfection of faith that is possible in the work of Christ's sacrifice.

In verses 23-29 we will see Moses' journey of faith. Starting the story about Moses begins with the story of Moses' parents' courage in hiding him for three months despite threats from Pharaoh. They believed that God had a plan for their son and were not afraid of danger. Several years later, when Moses grew up and realized his true identity as a Hebrew, he rejected his privilege as the son of Pharaoh's daughter (verses 24-26). He preferred to suffer with his people rather than enjoy luxury on top of the suffering of his people. In addition, Moses also made a big decision by leaving Egypt without fear of Pharaoh's wrath (verse 27). He put his faith in God, who he believed was far more powerful than Pharaoh. Moses' courage also moved the Israelites to be involved in the liberation effort.

Moses also led the Israelites during Passover, by sprinkling lamb's blood on the doors of their homes (verse 28). Blood became a sign of God's protection that saved His people from death. Even one of the unforgettable events in the story of Moses with the people was about the parting of the Red Sea, which gave them a way to cross the sea and helped them defeat or drown Pharaoh's soldiers who were chasing them (verse 29). These extraordinary things that Moses did were not because of his own strength but because of Moses' steadfast faith in God. God was always with Moses and made him a leader for the Israelites. In this way, God's presence was felt in real terms in the lives of the people.

Bible friends, faith allows us to walk in the wonders that God provides. Faith in Him will bring true courage, wisdom, and salvation. However, it must be remembered that the focus of faith is our ability to build a relationship with God in all situations that occur. The events outside the natural law that occurred in the story of Moses were part of God's plan to encourage the building of relationships with His people. In the end, God's people can feel God's presence in real terms and never leave God in our lives. There may be times when we doubt when life's struggles and challenges come, but when that happens, our faith in God should be even stronger.
