Human intellect brings about a belief that with one's own abilities one can and does bring about anything in life. This trust and belief in oneself is important to survive in the world. But on the other hand, this belief needs to be balanced with the realization that in the end, God is the one who decides. He owns and determines everything in the universe.

The psalmist emphatically addresses his poem to "fools" and "foolish people". Both words do not necessarily refer to a person's cognitive ability, but rather the category of people who put pride in themselves. They consider their lifetime achievements and glories to be enough reason for them to be remembered. In God's wisdom, the psalmist reminds us that such things are ephemeral.

Return quickly to His wisdom; those who are overly proud and dwell in arrogance will perish. They will perish into the world of the dead, like sheep led to the slaughter. From all this destruction only God can deliver. Therefore, the meaningfulness of human life does not lie in the temporal things that are achieved, but in submission to God and eternal relationship with Him. However, this does not mean that the glory of life cannot be achieved by humans, as illustrated by the Psalmist's message that everything must be accompanied by His wisdom and understanding.

Then let us submit ourselves to God in all our decision-making. Not to our own lusts and thoughts but to God's wisdom that brings understanding to life. That is the mark of a life truly dedicated to God.
